President of the UN General Assembly to visit India

The President of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid will undertake a visit to the Republic of India from 28-29 August 2022.
During the visit, the President of the General Assembly (PGA) is expected to meet with Vice President of India H.E. Jagdeep Dhankhar and Foreign Secretary H.E. Vinay Kwatra where he will focus on ongoing issues at the General Assembly, and India's engagement with the United Nations.
The President will also meet with the UN Resident Coordinator in India Mr Shombi Sharp and will have an interaction with the UN Country Team.
President Shahid will be traveling with a delegation of three members of his Office. The costs of the visit are borne by the Government of the Republic of India and the OPGA Trust Fund.
