The UNESCO New Delhi Office for Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka is offering a special webinar to celebrate World Art Day 2021 (15 April).
Proclaimed at the 40th session of UNESCO’s General Conference in 2019, World Art Day is a celebration and dialogue for the promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions, artistic creations and to highlight the contributions of artists for global sustainable development. The webinar will feature a special discussion on the localisation of the 1980 UNESCO Recommendation Concerning the Status of the Artist and also launch the UNESCO New Delhi Culture Sector campaign #UNESCOsupportsartists, designed within the framework of the UNESCO ResiliArt campaign.

- Ms Geeta Chandra, Padma Shri awardee Indian classical dancer.
- Mr Sanjoy Roy, Founder and Managing Director, Teamwork Arts.
- Mr Arjun Sagar Gupta, Founder and Director, the Piano Man Group.
Ms Yoonhyung Jeon (ROK), member, EU–UNESCO expert facility on the UNESCO 2005 Convention for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions will be delivering a special presentation on ‘international best practices: the Republic of Korea.’
Webinar Discussion: ‘Shaping the Future for Artists’ will commence at 14:20 IST. The webinar discussion is organised in co-operation with The Marg Foundation and Sahapedia.
The session moderator will be Dr Rizio Yohannan, CEO, The Marg Foundation.
