United Nations Resident Coordinator, a.i Francine Pickup statement on Ethiopian Airlines crash
The United Nations family in India is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives in the crash of the Ethiopian Airlines flight 302 near Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victims, including those of 19 United Nations staff members, amongst whom was Shikha Garg, a colleague from UNDP India placed with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
“We offer our heartfelt sympathies and solidarity to the victims’ families and loved ones. The UN flag is lowered to half-mast today, in memory of the UN personnel killed in the ill-fated airline crash.
