World’s largest beach cleanup removes 5.3 million kilograms of trash - #IndiaWithNature

On the eve of World Environment Day, nearly 2,000 volunteers, including schoolchildren, participated in a beach cleanup to remove the plastic filth that the sea had washed ashore on the the 3-km stretch at Versova beach. It was the 87th weekend since Versova residents, led by lawyer Afroz Shah, along with the civic body, began cleaning the beach. On Sunday, they removed more than 160 tonnes of trash.
