The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948, at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, France. It is the embodiment of universal values that transcend cultures, nations and regions, and proclaims the inalienable rights to which all human beings regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status are inherently entitled to as human beings.
