UN Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt at BRICS Summit

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit.

The Secretary-General and President Al Sisi discussed global developments, including the situation in the broader Middle East and Ukraine, and their global impact. 

The Secretary-General and the President discussed in detail the situation in Gaza and in the West Bank and reaffirmed the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people.

The Secretary-General underscored Egypt's critical role in facilitating dialogue towards peace and stability in the Middle East.
